Find a husky near you

Shelters first, then husky rescues, then breed clubs. Every listing is a real organization we checked by hand.

Looking to be a husky owner and open your home to the most loving breed?

Huskies are affectionate, funny and social. Most love people, other dogs and being part of everything you do. They're also a real commitment: daily hard exercise, a lot of hair, a secure fence, and 12 years or more of your time.

If you're ready for that, a shelter is a great place to start. Huskies turn up in local shelters all the time, often because a previous owner wasn't ready for the energy. Adopting one saves a life and frees up space for the next dog.

Adopt first

Shelters and rescues often know an adult dog well: whether it lives with cats, how it handles being alone, and how good it is at climbing fences. That's information no puppy can give you. Most rescues place dogs through foster homes and an application, so expect questions about your fence, and see that as a good sign.
