10 Things YOU NEED TO HAVE When You Get A Husky Puppy! [UPDATED GUIDE FOR BEGINNERS]
The video
Sixty Formula updates its beginner's shopping list: the 10 things you need when you bring home a husky puppy. It's about 14 minutes long, and the description doubles as a gear list, linking to a two-door crate, a puppy pen, a leash coupler for walking two huskies at once, training treats and a 30-foot lead.
Meet the dog and the channel
Sixty Formula is one of the biggest husky channels on YouTube, with about 1.34 million subscribers when we checked in November 2026. The channel's Facebook page is "hilathehusky," which points to Hila, one of the channel's dogs. Other descriptions list a P.O. box in Jacksonville, Florida. Four videos in this collection are theirs. How it blew up
The video went up on January 21, 2021, and had about 1.27 million views when we checked in November 2026. That's a lot for a shopping list. It shows how many new owners search for exactly this the week before the puppy arrives. One note: the gear links in the description are Amazon affiliate links, which is normal for YouTube. Local Husky doesn't earn anything from them.
Our take: you don't need everything on the list on day one. You do need the crate, the pen and the long lead before the puppy comes home, not the week after. Gear lists like this also keep you honest about the budget. A husky isn't a cheap dog even before the vet bills.
The husky science behind it
Most husky puppy gear exists to manage two things: chewing and escaping. Huskies are mouthy as puppies and very good at getting out of things as adults, so a sturdy crate, a pen and secure fencing matter more than any toy. A long lead (often 10 to 30 feet) is the safe way to give a husky room to run while you build recall, because many shouldn't be trusted off leash in open areas.
A practical tip
Skip the cute puppy collar, and buy a well-fitted harness plus a martingale collar for ID tags. Huskies can back out of a regular flat collar surprisingly easily. Get indestructible chews before the puppy finds your shoes, and budget for a professional de-shed when the first adult coat blows.
