The TRUTH About Owning A Siberian Husky!!!

Video by Sixty Formula on YouTube · Watch on YouTube. Local Husky isn't affiliated with this channel.

The video

Sixty Formula, one of the biggest husky channels on YouTube, gives its unsugared take on what owning a Siberian Husky is really like. The description is just three hashtags, so the title has to sell it. For anyone trying to decide whether they're ready, this is the video to watch before you browse puppy listings.

Meet the dog and the channel

Sixty Formula had about 1.34 million subscribers when we checked in November 2026. Its older descriptions list a P.O. box in Jacksonville, Florida. The channel covers training, gear and daily life with huskies, and four of the videos in this collection are theirs. See also the 5-step training video, potty training and 10 things you need for a husky puppy.

How it blew up

The video went up on April 18, 2023, and had about 551,000 views when we checked in November 2026. Truth-about-owning videos are a big part of husky YouTube, partly because so many people are attracted by the breed's looks and then shocked by everything else. We didn't find any press coverage of this video.

Our take: every husky channel makes a "truth about owning one" video, and the honest ones are a public service. This one belongs on the watch-before-you-buy list, next to K'eyush's 10 reasons to (not) get a husky. Watch both videos before you go looking at puppy listings, and watch them with your whole household. The person who'll end up doing the 6 a.m. walk should get a vote.

The husky science behind it

The "truth" usually comes down to three things breeders and rescues all warn about. Huskies need lots of exercise every day, because they were bred to pull light loads over long distances. They escape: they dig, climb and squeeze through gaps, and have a strong urge to run. And they shed, especially during the twice-yearly coat blow. Many also have strong prey drive, are vocal, and don't do well left alone for long.

A practical tip

Before committing, spend a weekend with a husky. Foster one through a breed rescue, or volunteer to walk shelter huskies. If the reality after a weekend is still appealing, you're probably a husky person. If it's exhausting, you've just saved yourself and a dog a lot of trouble.
