Embarrassed Husky Doesn’t Want to be Brushed! 1 HOUR Grooming!
The video
The title is "Embarrassed Husky Doesn't Want to be Brushed! 1 HOUR Grooming!" It shows K'eyush going through a long brush-out, and he makes it very clear the whole time how he feels about it. The video itself is about five and a half minutes. The hour is how long the brushing took, which is a realistic number for a husky coat.
Meet the dog and the channel
K'eyush was a husky-malamute mix owned by Jodie Barnard of Brixham, Devon, England. He first made news in 2017 for being hopeless at fetch (the New York Post and Metro both covered it), then became one of YouTube's best-known dog personalities, with about 2.14 million subscribers when we checked in November 2026. The video descriptions also point to Jodie's second channel, Jodie Boo, and to K'eyush's best friend, Sherpa, another husky-malamute with his own channel. K'eyush died suddenly in February 2025, and Jodie posted a tribute video that month.
How it blew up
The video went up on June 6, 2022, and had about 6.1 million views when we checked in November 2026. A dog complaining through grooming is one of the most reliable formats in pet YouTube, and K'eyush's dramatic sighs suited it perfectly. We didn't find press coverage of this video.
The husky science behind it
Plenty of huskies hate being brushed, and there's usually a good reason. Pulling on mats or tangles near the skin hurts, and dogs remember it. A husky also has a lot of coat to get through. The undercoat is dense enough that brushing only the top layer does almost nothing, which is why proper brushing takes so long. A dog who learns that brushing is uncomfortable will start protesting as soon as the brush comes out.
A practical tip
Make brushing boring and rewarding. Do short sessions of five or ten minutes instead of one big hour. Start in the places your dog likes being touched, like the chest and shoulders, before moving to the pants and tail. Use a lick mat with something spreadable on it to keep your husky busy. If you hit a mat, work it from the end toward the skin while holding the hair at the base so you aren't pulling on the skin.
